It is now only seven days until the Louis Vuitton Cup begins with Emirates Team New Zealand racing the Italians Luna Rossa.
Suddenly the day that the team has been working so hard towards is upon us.
Is the team ready? “You are never ready, you could always use more time, however it is time now to go racing and we are really looking forward to it,” is how skipper Dean Barker describes his state of readiness.
“We are very focused now on just going out and getting into the racing.”
In the meantime, the team has a couple more days sailing the AC72, an America’s Cup opening ceremony on the 4th on July, Independence Day here in America and an Opening Fleet parade on the 5th all to squeeze into the busy schedule before race one on July 7.
